 The NIAA doesn’t recognize a state title until 1955. The first two titles were won by Basic High School in Las Vegas. Fallon was the first team to win the state title from the north (1957) and repeated in 1958. Rancho won 1959, ’60 and ’61 and Reno claimed its first in 1962.

DOUGLAS HIGH HOME FIELDS

1962: Gardnerville Town Park (Now Heritage Park, would have been located on the east side of the park behind where the 20/30 Jail building is). The field was originally constructed in 1942 when crews building the Minden-Tahoe Airport donated six trucks, a grader and some other equipment in hopes of generating a town league.
1963-1974: Douglas County High School (Now Carson Valley Middle School, the backstop is still in place on the northwest side of campus behind the track).
