Farmers Market: The Sierra Chef Farm to Fork Farmers Market will be 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Wednesday through Sept. 13. An assortment of fresh local foods, crafts and local specialties through more than 35 vendors will be on hand. There will be a Big Bag Giveaway every week, along with “Giving Back Booths” for community service organizations. “Farm to Fork” classes will also be offered during the market season.

Storytime: Enjoy stories at the park! The Douglas County Public Library will provide storytime at Lampe Park on Wednesdays at 10 a.m. from June 7 through July 26. Crafts will be included. Storytime will be held near the Farmer’s Market. Children of all ages are welcome. Douglas County Board of Commissioners Meeting: The Douglas County Board of Commissioners meets the third Thursday of every month at 1 p.m. at the Tahoe Transportation Center, 169 Highway 50 in Stateline.

READing Paws: A READing Paws therapy dog will be available at the Minden Library from 10:30 to noon today. Reading with animals can help children feel calm, gain confidence, and become strong readers. Children of all ages and reading levels are invited to read with a registered therapy dog and the dog’s handler. Each child will spend 15 minutes with a dog. Time slots are available on a first come, first serve basis. Parental permission is required, and permission forms are available at the library. This program is offered in partnership with READing Paws, a local affiliate of Intermountain Therapy Animals. The library is located at 1625 Library Lane in Minden.

Mug Cakes: The Douglas County Public Library is hosting a mug cake baking event as part of the Adult Summer Reading Program. The Minden Library baking event will be on Thursday, July 20 at 5:30 p.m. All mugs and ingredients will be provided. Several mug recipes will be featured and will include sweet and savory options. Participants of all ages are welcome; however, children must be accompanied by a supervising adult. The Minden Library is located at 1625 Library Lane. Thirsty Third Thursday: Main Street Gardnerville hosts its Thirsty Third Thursday Wine Walks from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Main Street Gardnerville District. Each event has a theme so come dressed up in support of the theme and you could win a $25 gift certificate to one of our participating businesses. The cost to attend the wine walk is $20 to register and receive a commemorative light blue logoed glass which can be used at all our future Wine Walks. Golf Tournament: The “All 4 Charity” Golf Tournament is scheduled Saturday, July 22, 2017 at the Carson Valley Golf Course. Proceeds from tournament will benefit MEFIYI (Me-For-Incredible-Youth) youth sport, mentorship and life-career skills programs for local student-athletes and WAVE (Welcome All Veterans Everywhere); a 501(c)(3) non profit organization whose mission is identifying and supporting needs of veterans in Douglas County.
