Highway 395 in Gardnerville near Industrial Way was closed in both directions for several hours Sunday night as the Nevada Highway Patrol investigated a vehicle-vs.-pedestrian fatal crash.

The pedestrian, an adult male according to a Carson Now report, was killed. The incident remains under investigation.

A Red Flag Fire warning is in effect for the region today from 11 a.m. through 10 p.m. Winds could gust up to 50 mph in wind-prone areas, combining with low humidity around Northern Nevada to allow for rapid spread of any fire starts.

Residents are encouraged to avoid any outdoor activities that can cause a spark, including target shooting, campfires, yard work and the like.

Look for a high of 75 degrees this afternoon, with daytime highs declining into the 60s by the close of the week.

That’s a full lid for this morning. Take care out there and have a great day.
