GARDNERVILLE, Nev. — Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to return after 2 p.m. today with some of the storms potentially producing heavy rain. Otherwise, look for mostly sunny skies with a high near 87  until then.

The chance of precipitation this afternoon is 50 percent.

The thunderstorms also have the region under a fire weather watch from this afternoon through this evening. Outflow winds from the storms could reach up to 40 mph, which could cause the rapid spread of fire starts caused by lightning strikes.

The Sierra Chef Farm to Fork Farmers Market will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Lampe Park today.

The Douglas County Public Library will host toddler storytime for children 18 months to 3 years of age at 10:30 a.m.  Children will participate in music and felt-board stories.  The Minden Library is located at 1625 Library Lane.

The Minden Town Board meets at the CVIC Hall, 1604 Esmeralda Avenue in Minden at 5:30 p.m., this evening.

Douglas volleyball swept North Valleys 3-0 Tuesday evening and Douglas girls soccer defeated North Valleys 7-0.
That’s a full lid for this morning. Take care out there and have a great day.
