Genoa Americana Celebration & Chicken BBQ July 4

GENOA, Nev. — The Genoa Americana Celebration will be July 4 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. located at Mormon Station State Historic Park.

The day will feature five traditional music groups and will conclude with a special Independence Day Tribute performance by the Carson Symphony Orchestra at 4:30 p.m.

The celebration kicks off in the at 10 a.m. with Traditional American music followed by the Children’s Parade at 11 a.m.

The Genoa Volunteer Fire Department Chicken BBQ will run from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the fire department. The meal includes 1/2 BBQ chicken, cole slaw, baked potato and dinner roll for $12. Beverages are sold separately. Tickets are available from the GVFD. You can also buy tickets at the Chicken BBQ tent (The Town of Genoa does not sponsor the Chicken BBQ event. The event is listed here because it is an annual event put on by the Genoa Volunteer Fire Department, an organization which is a much needed part of our community manned by volunteers within our community).

The Genoa Americana Celebration is sponsored by the Traditional American Music Project, Friends of Genoa and the Town of Genoa.
