5th Annual ‘Gardnerville Freedom 5K Fun Run/Walk Set For July 4

GARDNERVILLE, Nev. — The Town of Gardnerville and Main Street Gardnerville will host their 5th annual “Gardnerville Freedom 5K Fun Run/Walk” on July 4th, 7 am – 10 am at Heritage Park. Come dressed in your best patriotic colors and you could win a prize for “Best Dressed.”

Enjoy a run/walk around Heritage Park, Martin Slough Nature Trail, and Carson Valley Middle School cross-country and running track.

There are discounts for families and sharing on social media. Advance registration by June 23rd will guarantee the runner/walker a Freedom 5K commemorative t-shirt. A limited number of t-shirts will be available the day of the event.

Registration forms are also available in the Gardnerville office at 1407 Hwy 395 in Gardnerville. Submit registration forms with payment to Main Street Gardnerville at this same address.

There will be a Yankee Doodle Dash Obstacle Course, free for kids 12 and under. Competitions begin at 8 am. No preregistration needed but must fill out a liability form to enter.

The Carson Valley Lions Club will host a “Pancake Breakfast” from 8-10 am. The $7 breakfast includes pancakes, eggs, sausage and beverage.

Ted Nagel, Rolling Thunder Entertainment Company of Nevada, will once again serve as MC and entertain the crowd with patriotic and other music. The patriotic music will continue in the park with a rousing performance by the Carson Valley Pops Orchestra. The Lions Club will remain on site to host lunch during the orchestra’s performance.
