Deputy Spencer McLaughlin Welcomed To Douglas County Sheriff’s Office

MINDEN, Nev. – A new deputy was sworn in on June 12, 2017 in the training room of the Minden Judicial Building surrounded by family and friends. Sheriff Pierini welcomed Deputy Spencer McLaughlin to the law enforcement family in Douglas County.

Deputy Spencer McLaughlin holds an Associate’s degree in liberal arts from Feather River College in Quincy, California. He played football while attending there. After completing a degree he enlisted in US Marine Corp in 2012. Deputy McLaughlin was a military police officer for five years, spending most of his time on the base SWAT team in Japan and at Camp Pendleton near Oceanside, California.

Deputy McLaughlin attended the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Office SWAT academy during his military assignment.

Deputy McLaughlin is excited about his new career in civilian law enforcement and returning to the area. He lived in Douglas County and in Smith Valley during his childhood.
