GARDNERVILLE, Nev. — To celebrate the end of winter, come to the Open House and Plant Faire at Heritage Park Gardens on Saturday, May 20th.

There are 10 spaces of various sizes available for people in the community to grow vegetables and/or flowers. Plots can be rented for a small annual fee to help cover the cost of water and other necessities. It’s fun and it’s healthy to grow your own veggies. Come on Saturday to choose your spot in the community gardens, or you can contact Carol at cjsandmeier@aol.com for further information.

Kids are invited to join in on the activities in the Children’s Garden starting at 11 on Saturday. There will be a Scavenger Hunt, or you can walk the labyrinth, or choose some tomato plants for your home gardens. A variety of other plants will be available along with some “Garden Goodies” to enhance your garden décor.

Heritage Park Gardens is located at 1461 Ezell St., just off Gilman in Gardnerville and is a community project of Main Street Gardnerville.
