GE Family Concert Series Kicks Off May 26 With Garratt Wilkin & The Parrotheads

MINDEN, Nev. — The Douglas County Parks & Recreation Department GE Family Concert Series begins Friday May 26 with Garratt Wilkin & the Parrotheads, co-sponsored by Arrowhead Dental.

The concert begins at 6 p.m. and ends at 8 p.m. at Minden Park.

“Garratt Wilkin & the Parrotheads” are experiencing an expanding popularity while headlining fairs and festivals in not only their own hometown of Placerville, California, but throughout all of the Western United States, including Alaska and Hawaii, and as far away as Florida, Texas, Vermont, Delaware, Massachusetts, Connecticut and Nashville, Tennessee.

Garratt and his band have been billed as the No.1 Jimmy Buffett tribute band.

Garratt says, “Traveling with ‘The Parrotheads’ is a great way to meet Jimmy Buffett fans and to make new ‘Parrothead’ friends. We get such a kick out of performing for fans that become just as much a part of the show as we are.”

The concert is free of charge due to the generous contributions of the following businesses and organizations: GE Energy, Town of Minden, Arrowhead Dental Center, Carson Tahoe Health, AVK American Company, Starbucks Roasting Plant, Rejuvenate Salon, Carson Valley Inn, Town of Minden, Building Concepts, Nu-Systems, Inc., Sierra Ear, Nose & Throat, Campagni Toyota Scion, Dr. James the Dentist, Airport Road Self Storage, Gardnerville Health & Rehab, Grand Prix Express Car Wash, Guild Mortgage, Sullivan Law, Silver State Building Materials, Jane B. Spaces no larger than 10’ x 10’ can be reserved starting at 7 a.m. the day of the concert, no blankets on the lawn until after 5 p.m. the day of the concert.
