Softball: Douglas Sweeps Doubleheader From Carson (PHOTOS)

MINDEN, Nev. — The Douglas High softball team closed out its regular season with a doubleheader sweep of rival Carson High, winning both games in walkoff fashion.

In Game 1, Bailey Walters hit a two-run walkoff home run to deliver a 10-8 win for the Tigers.

Walters went 2-for-4 with two home runs and three RBIs in the game and Alyssa Smokey went 3-for-4 with a home run and four RBIs. Smokey and Kylie Swan (one RBI) each doubled.

Amanda Hoffman picked up the win in relief, striking out two and walking one. Deztiny Vaughan struck out three in a four-inning start.

In Game 2, Kettja Bennett hit a two-run single to cap a four-run rally in the seventh a give Douglas a 7-6 win.

Kendal Moore led the inning off with a home run to start the rally.

Casey Peck doubled and drove in three runs in the win. Hoffman picked up her second win of the day, striking out six and walking three in a complete game.
