Concordia University Christi Crux Vocal & Brass Ensembles To Perform At Trinity Lutheran Church May 5

GARDNERVILLE, Nev. — Enjoy a celebration of spring as the Concordia University music program presents a concert celebrating the 500th anniversary year of the Reformation featuring the university’s Christi Crux Vocal and Brass Ensembles.

The performance is scheduled at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1480 Douglas Avenue in Gardnerville on Friday, May 5 at 7 p.m. Admission is free. Tax deductible donations supporting the Concordia University music program will be accepted.

The concert, directed by Kurt Berentsen, includes choral classics composed or arranged by Jean Berger, F. Melius Christiansen, William Dawson, Paul Fetler, Howard Helvey, Norman Luboff, G. P. Palestrina, Paul Manz, Giacomo Puccini, P. Peter Sacco, Heinrich Schütz, and Robert Starer, among others. Brass selections include classical compositions or arrangements by Walter Barnes, Robert King, Johann Pachelbel, Johann Pezel, and Henry Purcell, among others.
