MINDEN, Nev. — Sierra Lutheran High School is performing Godspell – 2012 Revised Version  as conceived by John-Michael Trebelak, with musics and new lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, this weekend (April 20th, 21st, and 22nd).

The family-friendly show is based on the Biblical Gospel of Matthew (with some material from the Gospel of John), in a fresh new setting, while retaining the timeless message of Christ’s love and the role of community in Christian life.

This is the school’s first-ever musical production during the course of its seven-year-old theater program, and all of the involved students will be singing and dancing along with their usual acting. This show features some fun and exciting audience participation in some of the lessons of the Bible. Running time is approximately 2 hours (including a 10-minute intermission).

Doors open at 6pm; show begins at 6:30pm. Tickets are $5, with a $2 discount for children under 12 and seniors over 60. The show is directed by Mr. Martin Kois, music director Mrs. Heather Kois, and choreography by Miss Katie Allin. On Friday night, there will be a fundraiser dinner before the show at 5:30pm; $6 a plate.
