GARDNERVILLE, Nev. — Look for sunny skies today (and through Friday and the weekend, for that matter), with a high of 56 degrees and light afternoon winds.

Temperatures should reach into the 70s by Saturday, with a chance of rain waiting around the beginning of next week.

The Carson Valley Chamber of Commerce hosts its annual Business Showcase today from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Douglas County Community & Senior Center. More than 100 local businesses are expected to be on hand to display their products and services, restaurants will offer tastings, a free raffle including 100 prizes will be conducted and all attendees get an entry into the Grand Prize drawing. Admission is free.

The Douglas County Board of Commissioners meets at Stateline this afternoon (1:30 p.m.) at the Tahoe Transportation Center, 169 Highway 50. Their full agenda appears here.

Douglas baseball is on the road this afternoon at Bishop Manogue. First pitch is scheduled for 3:45 p.m.

That’s a full lid for this morning. Take care out there and have a great day.
