CVT Breakfast Wars 2017 — Nomination Round
Staff Reports · 2 min read
It’s time for this month’s edition of CVT Wars and for April we are in search of Carson Valley’s Signature Breakfast.
We have created a virtual throwdown among Valley restaurants, seeking out the signature dishes Carson Valley has to offer. We cover burgers, pizzas, sandwiches, soups, steaks, salads, appetizers, breakfasts, pasta, desserts, hot dogs and fried foods (you can see the results here).
For the nomination round, the top three finalists from the prior year receive a free pass into the final round, clearing some room during the nomination round for new establishments and new dishes at already established restaurants.
Last year’s champion — the “Cowboy Benedict” from Cowboy’s Cafe, the “No Brainer: Pavement Scraper” from Woodett’s and “Chicken Fried Steak & Eggs” From The Grill Next Door are all automatically advanced to next week’s final round.
That leaves one spot up for grabs during this week’s nomination round.
Nominees should come from locally unique restaurants. Nominees should be within the CVT coverage area (the Douglas-Carson line to the north, the foot of the Carson Range to the west, the Pine Nuts to the east and the state line to the south).
For the nomination round, you can submit one ballot per computer per day, voting for as many different entries on the ballot at once as you feel are worthy.
As always, we encourage you to get out and try the nominees listed on the ballot to see if you think they might be worth a vote later in the week (or in the final round). If you have a favorite dish listed not currently on the ballot, feel free to add it in the write-in slot (keeping in mind there are already three finalists, and they aren’t eligible to get any other entries into the final round).
Nominations close at 5 p.m., Friday, April 21. Feel free to e-mail nominations to email@example.com (include a picture!).
The top entry will advance to the final round, where it will face the top three vote recipients from last year.
Enjoy and Remember you can vote for more than one entry at once! And You can submit one ballot per day.
