MINDEN, Nev. — The Saletti’s building was torn down in a matter of hours Thursday evening. The restaurant closed last month. Reports are the area where the building stood will be paved over for a parking lot.

The East Fork of the Carson River rose again Thursday evening, topping out at 11.28 feet around 11 p.m., marking an increase of three inches over Wednesday’s high and a rise of 4.5 inches over the prior 48 hours. Thursday evening’s peak was still 2 feet, 1 inch below flood stage.

Look for a high of 74 degrees today under mostly sunny skies. The overnight low will get down to 44 degrees and we’ll face a statistical coin flip’s chance of rain on Saturday. Rain is also in the forecast through the early part of next week.

The Douglas High softball team fell to McQueen Thursday afternoon. Read more on that here. Douglas baseball also fell at the hands of McQueen. More on that game here.

That’s a full lid for this morning. Take care out there and have a great day.
