Baseball: Douglas Falls To McQueen (PHOTOS)

MINDEN, Nev. — McQueen pulled away with a 7-2 win over Douglas in the Northern 4A opener for both teams Tuesday afternoon.

Jayden Foster and Isaiah Schat drove in Douglas’ two runs and Spencer Trivitt went 2-for-3 to the lead the Tigers at the plate.

Hunter Simpson struck out five and walked two in 3.1 innings of work for Douglas. Jeremy Aleman struck out two and allowed two hits in 3.2 scoreless innings.

Douglas next travels to McQueen Thursday for a 3:45 p.m. matchup.


Douglas beat McQueen 11-5 Tuesday in Reno.

Elijah Hinojosa and Elijah Lyons each had three hits, Evan Simpson, Zak Korzeniewski, Jonathan Antti and Calvin Doerr each had two hits and Austin Grant and Camden Brown each had one hit.

Korzeniewski picked up the win on the mound, while Justin Stevens struck out two and allowed no earned runs in 2.1 innings of work.
