Baseball: Douglas Tops Churchill & Reed, Falls to Carson

SPARKS, Nev. — The Douglas High baseball team picked up a 11-4 win over Reed Saturday evening to go with a 13-7 win over Churchill County earlier in the day at Reed High School.

Douglas built a 6-0 lead through the first three innings against Reed and pushed ahead for the win from there.

Isaiah Schat struck out 10 in five innings of work, walking three and allowing just two hits.

Spencer Trivitt went 3-for-5 with two RBIs, Haydn Brown went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and Ayden Murphy drove in  a pair of runs in the win.

Against Churchill County, Haden Keller, Spencer Trivitt, Haydn Brown and Ayden Murphy each drove in two runs.

Keller went 3-for-4 to pace the offense for Douglas.

Jayden Foster picked up the win on the mound, striking out three in four innings of work.

On Friday afternoon, Douglas fell 11-5 to Carson in Carson City.

Haden Keller went 3-for-4 at the plate and Haydn Brown and Isaiah Schat  each drove in a pair of runs while Schat, Jayden Foster and Riley Wilkinson each collected two hits.

Spencer Trivitt, Brown, Ayden Murphy and Jeremy Aleman each had one hit.
