GARDNERVILLE, Nev. — Minden and Gardnerville are included in a moderate winter storm the National Weather Service has issued a special weather statement for running Saturday evening into Sunday morning.

Strong winds will develop Saturday with widespread snowfall Saturday evening into Sunday morning. The NWS isn’t confident in exact snowfall amounts just yet, stating the storm could bring anywhere from 1 to 3-6 inches to Western Nevada.

We’ll be keeping an eye on how that system develops.

Today and Friday should actually be quite nice outside, with clear skies and highs in the high 50s. Overnight lows will be on the rise as well — topping out in the high 20s tonight and the low 30s Friday evening.

The Douglas County Board of Commissioners meets today at 1 p.m. at the Douglas County Historic Courthouse, 1616 8th Street in Minden. You can view their full agenda here.

The final round of CVT Beef Wars 2017 closes this evening. You can cast your vote at this link.

That’s a full lid for this morning. Take care out there and have a great day.
