GARDNERVILLE, Nev. — Look for sunny skies and a high of 43 degrees this afternoon.

Daytime highs will continue to climb into the high 50s by Friday, though overnight lows are expected to drop into the teens over the next two nights.

The Douglas County Public Library will host toddler storytime for children 18 months to 3 years of age at 10:30 a.m., today. Children will participate in music and felt-board stories. Preschool storytime for children ages three to five years will be at 11:15 a.m. Music and a craft accompany stories. The Minden Library is located at 1625 Library Lane.

Douglas High skiers will compete in the state slalom races this afternoon at Heavenly Ski Resort. Douglas’ Danner Hillman and Sean Dunkleman are among the Tahoe Basin Ski League’s top skiers this season.
