GARDNERVILLE, Nev. — We have sub-freezing temperatures and slick roads again this morning.

As of 6 a.m., the Gardnerville Ranchos were reading 15 degrees. Chains or snow tires are required on Highway 88 from the California state line to  the intersection at 395, and on Highway 395 south of town. Same controls are in place for Kingsbury Grade and Highway 50 over Spooner Summit.

We’re in line for mostly clear skies this afternoon and a high of 36 degrees.

Snow should return Saturday and continue potentially into Tuesday.

Douglas County announced on Thursday that Tillman Road will be closed between Kimmerling and Patricia up to four months as permanent repair solutions are explored. The crux of the difficulty will be not in the repaving, but in finding a solution to the repeated flooding and drainage issues along that section of road.  Read more about it here.

That’s a full lid for this morning. Take care out there and have a great day.
