A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for Western Nevada, with up to 3 inches of snow possible this morning in areas further north. Carson Valley is expected to receive little to no snow accumulation. Chains or snow tires are required over both Kingsbury Grade and Spooner Summit as of 8 a.m.

The East Fork of the Carson River peaked Monday evening, and the main stem, which crosses under Highway 395 between Carson and Minden, is expected to crest below flood stage this evening. More on that story here.

The Douglas County Public Library will host toddler storytime for children 18 months to 3 years of age at 10:30 a.m. today. Children will participate in music and felt-board stories. Preschool storytime for children ages three to five years will be at 11:15 a.m. Music and a craft accompany stories. The Minden Library is located at 1625 Library Lane.

The East Fork Fire Protection District Board of Directors meets today at 1 p.m. at the East Fork district administrative offices, 1694 County Road in Minden.

That’s a full lid for this morning. Take care out there and have a great day.
