GARDNERVILLE, Nev. — We’ll have a mix of rain and snow today, though little to no accumulation is expected on the Valley floor. Look for a high of 42 degrees and winds between 5-10 mph in the morning.

There’s about a coin flip’s chance of precipitation on Saturday, and just a slight chance of rain on Sunday before the biggest of this latest series of storms sets in on Monday.

The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for Monday, continuing into Tuesday, as heavy rains and high snow levels are expected around the region. Read more on that here. We’ll be keeping an eye on how that develops throughout the weekend.

The Sierra Lutheran girls basketball team claimed its first playoff win in school history Thursday, defeating Wells 39-27. More on that story to come. They’ll take on Eureka this afternoon in the regional semifinals. The Sierra Lutheran boys basketball team upended 1A East League champion McDermitt in the regional quarterfinals Thursday and will take on Owyhee in the regional semifinals today.

That’s a full lid for this morning. Take care out there and have a great day.
