Volleyball: Pau-Wa-Lu Takes On Carson Valley Middle School

Results from the Pau-Wa-Lu Middle School volleyball matches this week:


Pau-Wa-Lu defeated South Tahoe 25-15, 25-12.
Meadow Shull, Sage Hubkey, Alyssa Jenkins and Sophia Maricich had many aces.

Pau-Wa-Lu eighth grade lost to Carson Valley Middle School on Tuesday in three sets, 25-16, 16-25, 15-10.

Great all around play by Raven, Kaylyn, Mira and Montanna. Also Ashlyn was back on the court and serving.
PWL beat South Tahoe 25-22, 21-25, 15-9.

PWL pulled away in the first set after STMS fought a strong back and forth battle throughout. Good service runs by Neveah Kizer and Jessica James, backed by good offense and defense by Riley Mello and Neveah Kizer, respectively.

Molly Cloutier played well at the net.

Hannah Schaeffer had an outstanding service run in the second set in a  comeback bid that just missed. Starting at 13-23, she scored 8 straight service points before STMS finally stopped her streak. Kristyn Webb had her first complete game at setter, getting 5 assists.

In the deciding set, Jessica James made two spectacular booming hits to start off the offense on the way to a 15-9 win. Riley Mello ran off 4 straight service points to create a commanding 10-3 lead mid-way through
the set.

Emma Glover set well in both first and third sets to lead the offense.

PWL survived a squeaker 22-25, 25-23, 25-23, with the last two being come-from-behind victories:

  • Down 19-23 in set 2 (Jessica James served out the set) and down 12-13 in the final set (Emma Glover served out the set).
