GARDNERVILLE, Nev. — The National Weather Service says the latest series of storms is expected to arrive later this evening, with high winds expected throughout the day Thursday. The heaviest portion of the storm, which should bring rain and potential continued flooding risks to the Valley , is expected Sunday night, continuing into Monday.

Pau-Wa-Lu Middle School released its Honor Roll for the fall semester on Tuesday. You can find that here. Douglas High’s fall Honor Roll is here, and Carson Valley Middle School’s Honor Roll is here.

The Douglas High boys basketball team saw its season come to an end Tuesday at High Desert League champion Spanish Springs. The Douglas girls basketball team hosts Spanish Springs in the first round of the playoffs tonight at 7 p.m. NIAA Gate prices for the playoffs are $10/adult, $3/senior, $5/students (ASB stickers are not accepted at NIAA games). School district ID badges and coach passes will also not be accepted.

The Douglas County Public Library will host toddler storytime for children 18 months to 3 years of age today at 10:30 a.m. Children will participate in music and felt-board stories. The Minden Library is located at 1625 Library Lane.
