Boys Basketball: Sierra Lutheran Closes Regular Season With Win Over Coleville

MINDEN, Nev. — The Sierra Lutheran Falcons boys basketball team closed out their regular season at the Coleville Wolves Monday evening, winning 54-31.

The Falcons took off on an 8-0 streak over the first three minutes. Coleville tried to keep the game close but the Falcons would not let up. By halftime their lead had grown to 12 points.

Coleville committed numerous fouls, which allowed for the Falcons to tack on free throws.

The Falcons finished the game soundly winning by 23 points.

Nathan Waite finished with 13 points, five steals, and one assist. Kyman Berger had 10 points, three steals, and five rebounds. Zane Warkentin finished with nine points, six steals, and five rebounds. The Falcons finished the season with an 8-6 record. They will be playing McDermitt in the playoffs in Elko.

On Saturday night, the Sierra Lutheran Falcons suffered a 42-31 loss to the Whittell Warriors.

The Falcons stuck with the Warriors and both teams continued to score baskets.

By the end of the third quarter the Falcons were down by 10. The Falcons finished the game losing by 11 points.

Kyman Berger led in scoring with 11 points, he also contributed two rebounds and one steal. Zane Warkentin scored seven points along with four steals and three rebounds.
