GARDNERVILLE, Nev. — Douglas County officials are beginning to prepare for another active weather pattern later this week that could bring on more flooding. Read more about that here.

The main stem of the Carson River leading into Carson City dropped below flood stage early Sunday morning and has fallen nearly 50 percent since hitting a peak of 12 feet (major flood stage) on Friday.

The National Weather Service says we’re in for mostly sunny skies with a high of 47 degrees and light winds this afternoon. Nearly carbon-copy forecasts for Tuesday and Wednesday, peaking at 54 degrees. Rain is set to return on Thursday.

We’ll be kicking off our annual search for Carson Valley’s Signature Beef dish this afternoon, so keep an eye out for that.

Otherwise, we’ll be cleaning up after an extremely busy close of the week. Keep an eye out for updates throughout the day.

That’s a full lid for this morning. Take care out there and have a great day.
