Snow Expected To Continue Through Weekend (PHOTOS)

GARDNERVILLE, Nev. — An early morning snow storm Thursday dumped between 2-4 inches of snow around the Valley, causing a slower, slippery commute for motorists.

As of 9 a.m., chains or snow tires are required over both Kingsbury Grade and Spooner Summit. A chance of snow showers continues throughout the day, with less than an inch of additional accumulation expected. Look for a high of 38 degrees this afternoon.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory through 10 p.m. Friday with 2-4 inches of snow with winds up to 25 mph.

It has also issued a Winter Storm Watch effective Saturday evening through late Sunday night, forecasting six inches or more in Northern Nevada valleys and a foot or more above 5,000 feet. Winds should range between 15-25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph, creating blowing and drifting snow.
