GARDNERVILLE, Nev. — There are chain or snow tire requirements along Highway 395 from the state line up through Stephanie Way as of 5 a.m., and chain or snow tire requirements on Highway 88 from the stateline to 395.

With Kingsbury Grade remaining closed (repair work may recommence today, though the snow may complicate matters), there is a chains or snow tires for four-wheel drive only requirement for Highway 88 beyond the state line toward Highway 89. Spooner has chain or snow tire controls this morning as well.

We’re showing about 1-2 inches of snow in the Ranchos this morning.  The National Weather Service has extended a Winter Weather Advisory through 10 p.m. tonight with another 2-4 inches of snow possible to fall during the day. Look for a high of 32 degrees today. Another inch of snow is possible tonight before things begin to clear out on Friday — this time for at least the weekend.

All flood advisories expired yesterday, with the Carson River and the East Fork each measuring steady declines throughout the day.

That’s a full lid for this morning. Take care out there, be safe on the road and have a great day.
