Carson Valley’s Signature Hot Dog For 2016: “Chicago Dog” from Chicago Mike’s Pizza
Staff Reports • 2 min read
MINDEN, Nev. — Congratulations to Chicago Mike’s Pizza on winning our search for Carson Valley’s Signature Hot Dog with its “Chicago Dog,” which ran away with the vote this week.
We have created a virtual throwdown among Valley restaurants, seeking out the signature dishes Carson Valley has to offer. Through the first year, we covered burgers, pizzas, sandwiches, soups, steaks, salads, appetizers, breakfasts, pasta, dessert and fried foods (you can see the results here).
During the nomination round two weeks ago, four unique finalists emerged from the crowd. We can’t claim any of them to belong on a list of appropriate health foods, but they’re all delicious in their own right.
Nominees had to come from locally unique restaurants. Nominees should be within the CVT coverage area (the Douglas-Carson line to the north, the foot of the Carson Range to the west, the Pine Nuts to the east and the state line to the south).
Up next week, we’ll renew our search for Carson Valley’s Signature fried food. Start thinking of your nominees now!
