Carson Valley’s Signature Appetizer For 2016: “BBQ Pulled Pork Sliders” From The Grill Next Door

Posted By on March 24, 2016

After a runner-up finish in 2015, the BBQ Pulled Pork Sliders claimed the title for Carson Valley’s Signature Appetizer in 2016, carrying nearly 45 percent of the vote in the final round.

We have created a virtual throwdown among Valley restaurants, seeking out the signature dishes Carson Valley has to offer. Through the first year, we covered burgers, pizzas, sandwiches, soups, steaks, salads, appetizers, breakfasts, pasta, dessert and fried foods (you can see the results here).

Defending champion Saletti’s took second this year with its calamari, followed by the crab cakes from Julio’s Restaurant and the meatballs and garlic toast from Philadelphia Restaurant & Sandwich Company.

Nominees had to come from locally unique restaurants. Nominees should be within the CVT coverage area (the Douglas-Carson line to the north, the foot of the Carson Range to the west, the Pine Nuts to the east and the state line to the south).

As always, we encourage you to get out and try all of the finalists and honorable mentions to see what your favorites might be.
