Boys Basketball: Spanish Springs Holds On For Win Over Douglas (PHOTOS)

MINDEN, Nev. — The Spanish Springs High School basketball team was able to make its free throws down the stretch to hang on to a 69-63 win over Douglas in Minden Tuesday night.

Douglas had closed the gap to 62-59 with less than three minutes left, but Spanish Springs was able to close the win out from there.

The Cougars were led by Marcus Loadholt (21 points, four 3-pointers) and Bruce Delong (14 points, two 3-pointers), while Josh Prizina and Ryan Anderson contributed 12 and 11 points respectively.

Michael Johnson led Douglas with 19 points while Zach Kellar chipped in 13 with three 3-pointers.

Johnson grabbed seven rebounds and Jace Hart had another six in the loss, Tanner Williams dished out three assists and Tre Jackson had three steals.

Douglas (4-9 overall, 4-2 Northern Division I)  travels to Hug at 7 p.m. Friday.
