GARDNERVILLE, Nev. — You’re going to see quite a few softball players occupying restaurants, grocery stores, gas stations, hotel arcades and, of course, playing fields these next few days as the 16U division of the Triple Crown USA Nationals tournament lands in town.

The Reno/Tahoe area is hosting the broader tournament encompassing three age divisions and featuring national television coverage at the higher levels. Lampe Park and Stodick Park will serve as partial hosts to the 16U games with games running all day from 8 a.m. today on through late Wednesday evening. The tournament continues on through Thursday and Friday at other venues in the area.

The locally-based Nevada Hot Shots 99 will take on Impact Gold-Coronado at 8 a.m. today and Texas Stix Gold at 10 a.m. A full game schedule can be found at this link.

Deputies found an 8-year-old girl reported missing Monday evening after a 34-minute search in the Gardnerville Ranchos. The girl, who had ridden her bike from the Bluerock Road area to Arrowhead Drive, was located shortly after an Arrowhead Drive resident called emergency dispatch to report a girl matching the description had come by asking to see their dog. A deputy located the girl minutes later. She was safe and returned quickly to her family.  You can read more about that here.

Look for mostly sunny skies with a high near 86 degrees and a light southwest wind today.

That’s a full lid for this morning. Take care out there and have a great day.
