GARDNERVILLE, Nev. — UPDATE: The missing juvenile was found safely at 5:22 p.m. by a Douglas County Sheriff’s Deputy on Arrowhead Drive. She was returned to her family shortly after that.

Search and Rescue was called out on a report of a missing 8-year-old in the area of Leonard Road in the Gardnerville Ranchos at 4:48 p.m. Monday afternoon.

The missing juvenile was riding a boys red bicycle. She had last been seen around 3:20 or 3:25 p.m.

Search crews checked area parks and school grounds and have searched the bowling alley, Tillman 7-11 and Dollar General. They will also be making their way door-to-door down Bluerock Road.

At 5:15 p.m., emergency dispatch reported a caller saying they’d seen a girl matching the description who asked to see the caller’s dog on Arrowhead Drive. A deputy located her shortly after responding to that general area.
