GARDNERVILLE, Nev. — Our week of afternoon thunder and rain storms is expected to continue this afternoon (though the chance of precipitation is set at just 30 percent) with a high of 95 degrees. The forecast to close out the week has cooled slightly, with a high of 91 set for Independence Day on Saturday and highs dropping into the 80s to close out the weekend.

We have quite a list of stories to catch up on after our day off Wednesday, so keep an eye out for updates.

(Continued Below)

It is a fairly light day on the events calendar, with the Douglas County Board of Commissioners set to meet at 1 p.m. this afternoon in Minden at the Douglas County Historic Courthouse, 1616 8th Street. The Douglas baseball team travels to Reed High School for a 5 p.m. game in summer league action.

That’s a full lid for now. Take care out there and have a great day.
