MINDEN, Nev. — The Town of Minden will host a dedication ceremony for the Minden Gateway project at the intersection of Highway 395 and Highway 88 at 2 p.m. today. The public is invited to attend.

Work commenced on the project, which consists primarily of storm drain improvements, landscaping, pavers, sidewalks, lighting and a monument entry sign, in October 2014.

The town began discussing the site improvements for the Nevada Department of Transportation right-of-way portion of the intersection of State Route 88 and US Highway 395 at the Gateway Center began in 2008.

“The Minden Board knew this was the perfect opportunity to leave a positive lasting visual impression of the Town on visitors to our community,” said Minden Town Manager Jenifer Davidson in a release in October. “The improvement plan for the site went through several iterations before the Board unanimously approved a final design which incorporated the feedback of the Minden Citizen’s Advisory Committee in January (2014).”
