GARDNERVILLE, Nev., June 5, 2015 — We got a good couple of downpours Thursday morning and afternoon and, according to the National Weather Service, can expect a 40 percent chance of the same today with a high of 75 degrees.

Look for isolated showers followed by scattered thunderstorms and showers after 11 a.m., if it’s going to happen. The chances of rain are stronger Saturday, with an 80 percent shot.

The Kids Fishing Derby runs Saturday and Sunday and the third annual Grillin’ & Chillin’ BBQ & Blues Cookoff presented by the Family Support Council of Douglas County is Saturday at Minden Park. The Carson Valley Trails Association also presents Hike For Health Day on Saturday.

The Douglas County Community Center opens its summer series of Teen Nights Saturday from 6 to 10 p.m. with a dodgeball tournament. Cost is $5 for drop-ins or free with a community center membership. Each participant must have a release of liability on file at the center. You can view their full summer schedule here.

That’s a full lid for this morning. Take care out there and have a great day.
