GARDNERVILLE, Nev. — Douglas High grad Clara Ritger, whose journey onto the Millennial Trains Project we profiled earlier this year, has returned to her home in Washington, D.C., following the project. She was filming a six-episode video documentary that will premiere on YouTube this summer on the role restaurants are playing in revitalizing communities in transition.

She spoke to Smithsonian Magazine on the trip and was featured in this article earlier this week.

As of this writing, we’re looking directly at partly cloudy skies, but the National Weather Service is giving us an 80 percent chance of rain showers after 11 a.m. The chance of showers and thunderstorms will last through the weekend and into next week, in varying degrees. The high will top out at 70 degrees today.

The Douglas County Board of Commissioners meets this afternoon at 1616 8th Street in Minden. Their full agenda can be viewed here.

That’s a full lid for this morning. Take care out there and have a great day.
