GARDNERVILLE, Nev., May 28, 2015 — The Record-Courier reported Thursday that Grace Christian Academy student and Nevada State Champion speller Daniel Taylor made it to Round 3 of the preliminaries of the Scripps National Spelling Bee before making his exit. You can read their story here.

Congratulations to him.

ASPIRE Academy will hold its graduation ceremonies tonight at 5:45 at Genoa Lakes. Prior to that, the Douglas County School Board is expected to select a new superintendent during a special meeting at Douglas High School at 4 p.m. They had previously delayed a decision during their regular monthly meeting last week in order to allow for more time to consider the feedback on each of the four finalists.

Today is the final day to vote in our search for Carson Valley’s signature pasta. Polls close at 6 p.m.

Clear skies continue today, and tomorrow, with a high of 81 degrees expected this afternoon. There will be a calm west wind set about 5 mph. Friday brings with it a high of 84 and we’re still looking to peak Saturday at 87 before cooling back off into the 70s early next week.

That’s a full lid for this morning. Take care out there and have a great day.
