GARDNERVILLE, Nev., May 26, 2015 — There will be plenty of academic-related news this week with graduations and dean’s list announcements and so on.

Here’s a note to kick it all off: Leah McKinney, daughter of Matt and Rika McKinney of Gardnerville, NV and an eleventh grader at Phillips Academy in Andover, MA, earned a top composite score of 36 on a recent ACT test. To put it in perspective, of nearly 1.85 million students taking the test, McKinney was one of only 1,407 to achieve that score. Congratulations to her and her family. We’ll be following up with them this week.

There is a 20 percent chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms after noon today. Otherwise, look for a high of 73 degrees today, climbing into the 80s by Thursday.

We have a ton of stories to bring you today, and the chances of landing most of them are looking pretty decent. Keep an eye out.

That’s a full lid for now. Take care out there and have a great day.
