GARDNERVILLE, Nev., May 21, 2015 — Members of the Douglas County School Board voted Wednesday to defer a decision on hiring a new district superintendent to next Thursday (May 28) at 4 p.m. Several members cited the desire for more time to process comment and feedback on the four finalists as well as check further with references of each of the finalists.

Much like the first three days of this week, the National Weather Service is giving us an 80 percent chance of rain today after 11 a.m. – though the trend continues to hold a bit later in the afternoon. So far they’ve been pretty accurate, though the showers have been scattered.

We have quite a collection of reader photos from Wednesday’s rain at this link.

Things could begin to clear up this weekend, though a slight chance of rain remains in the forecast through next Wednesday. Look for a high around 60 degrees today with calm winds, if any.

Main Street Gardnerville kicks off its 2015 season of Thirsty Third Thursdays tonight from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Cost is $15 to register in the wine walk and an additional $5 for a commemorative glass that can be used at future walks. Registration will be available at opposite ends of the Main Street District with one booth at 1407 Highway 395 next to gadZooks and another at Big Daddy’s Bike Ski & Board.

That’s a full lid for this morning. Take care out there and have a great day.
