GARDNERVILLE, Nev., May 20, 2015 — The Douglas County School District Board of Trustees is expected to select a new superintendent at this afternoon’s monthly board meeting.

A search firm had whittled the field of finalists to four: Barton Goering, Chad Hicks, KristenMcNeill and Teresa White.

The meeting begins at 3:30 p.m., but that discussion is tentatively slated for 6:05 p.m. Current superintendent Lisa Noonan had previously announced her retirement.

As we reported yesterday, the Overland Restaurant & Pub is aiming for a June 8 opening date. You can read more about that, and their plans, here.

The Lampe Park Farmers Market opens its 15th season in Carson Valley at 9 a.m. this morning, running through 1 p.m.

The Douglas County Public Library hosts Toddler Storytime today at 10:30 a.m. at 1625 Library Lane. It will move to the Lampe Farmers Market later this summer.

The chance of rain today is up around 80 percent, most likely after 11 a.m. (though the trend the past few days has been for it to set in closer to the evening). Look for a high of 61 degrees and light winds of 5 to 10 mph. This system is now expected to carry into next Tuesday, with the strongest chances of rain hovering over today and Thursday.

We have a couple stories we’re aiming to bring you this morning, along with some stops around town to start some new stories that just might not get finished today (and probably won’t).

That’s a full lid for now. Take care out there and have a great day.
