GARDNERVILLE, Nev., May 19, 2015 — The Mindenfest Esmeralda Avenue Farmers Market opens for the season this afternoon at 4 p.m. and will run through 8 p.m. tonight. It’ll continue every Tuesday at the same times through September.

Douglas County Public Library will host Toddler Storytime at 10:30 a.m. today, followed but preschool storytime at 11:15 a.m. The Minden branch of the library is located at 1625 Library Lane.

And the Genoa Town Twirlers are hosting beginning square dance lessons each Tuesday through May at the Genoa Town Hall from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. First time participating is free. Cost is $6 per week per person after that. For more information, call John Hall, Caller at 775-461-3498 or 775-267-2198.

We had some sprinkles of rain at different spots around the Valley as the evening progressed into night but not a lot to show for the 80 percent chance of precipitation we had going into the day. It’s a 50/50 shot today, with isolated showers, then scattered showers and possibly some thunder after 11 a.m. Or not. Look for a high of 62 degrees with partly sunny skies, except in the event of said scattered showers. Calm winds throughout.

The storm system picks up in its probability of rain Wednesday and Thursday (80 percent each) and the chance of precipitation now extends out into Memorial Day on Monday.

We have a pretty cool story we’re working on today, penned by Sheila Gardner about a topic we think y’all are going to be pretty interested in. That’s what we can say for now. Keep an eye out for that.

That’s a full lid for this morning. Take care out there and have a great day.
