Deputy Jose Garcia Joins Douglas County Sheriff’s Office

Minden, Nevada – Douglas County Sheriff Ron Pierini is proud to announce the recent appointment of a new Douglas County Deputy Sheriff.

Jose Garcia was sworn in on Monday, May 18, 2015 in a ceremony held at the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office in Minden, Nevada.

The appointment comes as a result of several months of testing and evaluation consisting of a physical agility test, oral interview, extensive background investigation, psychological evaluation, polygraph examination, and medical exam.

Deputy Garcia holds a Category 1 Peace Officers Standards and Training certificate and an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice. He will begin his career at Douglas County Sheriff’s Office in the Jail Division.

Deputy Garcia worked for two years as a Tribal Officer prior to this assignment. He has a wife and two children.
