GARDNERVILLE, Nev., May 13, 2015 — Tuesday’s wind has cleared out for the time being, but the National Weather Service has given us a 20 percent chance of isolated thunderstorms between noon and 3 p.m. with winds gusting up to 25 mph.

The NWS has gotten stronger in its forecast of rain starting Thursday and potentially continuing through to Tuesday. Chance of precipitation Thursday will be 80 percent, with mostly calm winds and highs in the low 50s throughout.

Chris Dickerson sent in this photo from his tour of the newly-restored Farmers Bank building in Minden, which gives you quite the view from the roof:

The Douglas County Public Library hosts Toddler Storytime today at 10:30 a.m. at the Minden branch, 1625 Library Lane.

And the Carson Valley Lions Club meets tonight at Hamdogs at 6 p.m. with county Manager Jim Nichols as the guest speaker. Dinner starts at 6, program starts at 7 p.m. For more information, call Gareth Craner at 775-782-7975.

We have another list of stories we’d like to get to today, and are almost fully caught up from the backlog of stories leftover from last week’s server transition. Again, we appreciate everyone’s patience with us in that.

That’s a full lid for now. Take care out there and have a great day.
