Special to the Carson Valley Times

Both Stephanie and Jacqueline Harper left a legacy on the Douglas High School athletic program during their respective time playing various sports for the Tigers.

Stephanie Harper was one of the most prolific pitchers in the Douglas softball program’s history and Jacqueline helped lead the Douglas volleyball team to a state title in 2010.

The sisters have each gone on to excel at the college level.

Jacqueline was recently selected as the 2014-2015 Female Scholar Athlete of the Year for Notre Dame de Namur (NDNU). She graduated from NDNU with a degree in Psychology over the weekend with a GPA of 3.96.  She has also been coaching tournament girls volleyball, in the Stanford area, for the past three years.

Stephanie is in her second year as an assistant coach for Concord University softball team. She played for Concord prior to coaching. The Concord softball team was selected last week to play in the NCAA Division II Regional Tournament, where they bowed out on Saturday following a successful season.
Congratulations to both former Tigers on their success!
