Track & Field: Adams, Weston, Abreu Claim Regional Titles

CARSON CITY, Nev. — Douglas senior Lindsey Adams hauled in regional titles in the 800 and 1,600 Saturday at Carson High School Saturday. She edged out Reno’s Eliza McCall in the 800 finals, winning with a time of 2:19.39.

Morgan Weston won the girls discus regional title with a throw of 125-07 and Nick Abreu claimed the regional title in the boys long jump with a jump of 21-6.5. Connor Lyons was runner up in the event with a jump of 21-4.5.

Abreu was also third in the pole vault at 14-0.

Olivia Abbott was the regional runner up in the triple jump with a leap of 36-5.25.

Adams and Abbott teamed with Lizzie Byrne and Kyla Hinnant to take second in the 4×400 relay with a time of 4:06.37. Josh Gurule, Koby Hinnant, Dawson Coman and Abreu finished third in the 4×100 relay at 43.67.
