Softball: Douglas Sweeps Carson On Senior Day (PHOTOS)

MINDEN, Nev. — The Douglas High softball team outscored Carson 22-1 in a doubleheader Saturday to close out the regular season in solid fashion on its senior day.

Douglas won the first game 11-0, getting a one-hitter from Kali Sargent, who struck out 11 batters and walked none over five innings of work. She also doubled and drove in a run.

Madison Parks went 2-for-3 with four RBIs, Allison Meyer was 3-for-3 with three RBIs, a home run and two runs scored, Leonna Mortimer homered and drove in a pair of runs, and Mackenzie Brixey collected two hits. Morgan Gunnell and Chloie Pratt each had a hit as well.

In Game 2, Morgan Gunnell and Layne Waggoner each went 3-for-3 with two runs scored, as did Allison Meyer, who also drove in a pair of runs and hit a home run.

Shaena Robinson doubled, homered and drove in three runs, Leonna Mortimer doubled and drove in two RBIs, Makayla Shaver doubled and drove in one run, Nicole Dunn drove in one run and Madison Parks had a single.

Kaitlyn Bowman pitched five innings, striking out eight, walking none and scattering five hits.
