GARDNERVILLE, Nev., March 19, 2015 – It’s all the basketball you could want all day long as the NCAA National Basketball Championship Tournament opens up today.

Douglas High grad Hunter Myers is in Jacksonville, Fla., with the Harvard basketball team. The Crimson will take on traditional powerhouse North Carolina at 4:20 p.m. (our time). The game is on the slate for national coverage on TNT, so you can check in if you get a chance.

Myers posted a picture of his view for the week. Not that we’re jealous …

The Douglas softball team plays its first home game this afternoon, and it’ll be a pretty solid matchup. The Lady Tigers host perennial power Spanish Springs at 3:45 p.m.

The Douglas baseball team travels to Bishop Manogue in Reno, also starting at 3:45 p.m.

Just so we’re not all sports this morning, the Douglas County Board of Commissioners meets at the Tahoe Transportation Center at Stateline this afternoon at 1:30 p.m.

In today’s weather, look for a high of 69 degrees with clear skies and calm winds. 70 degrees Friday and 64 degrees Saturday, with nearly identical conditions through Sunday.

We chipped into our list of stories yesterday, but are still looking to tackle the larger portion of it. Hopefully we can whittle that down today a bit.

That’s a full lid for now. Take care out there and have a great day.
