MINDEN, Nev. — The Douglas High School baseball team fell 7-2 to Galena at Tiger Field in Minden Thursday afternoon.

Douglas grabbed a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first when first baseman Logan Fencl looped a single to left, scoring Kaleb Foster.

Galena tied the game up at one on a run-scoring single in the top of the third and went up 2-1 in the fourth on an unearned run.

The Grizzlies scratched two more runs across in the fifth to go up 4-1.

Douglas put together it best inning in the bottom of the fifth as Nick Wilkinson reached on a fielder’s choice and Tomas Leitenbauer later hit a two-out single. Kaleb Foster drew a walk to load the bases and Cale Kynett was hit by a pitch, bringing a run home. The Grizzlies ended the rally there, though, with a strike out to end an eight pitch at-bat.

Galena broke the game open from there, scoring three more runs in the sixth to set the score at its final.
