GARDNERVILLE, Nev., December 6, 2014, Douglas County opened the new 83,000 square foot community center in Gardnerville.    The Douglas County Commissioners approved MEFIYI (Me-for-Incredible-Youth, Inc), in collaboration with community leaders, Renea Louie-Business Council of Douglas County, Scott Morgan-Douglas County Parks & Recreation, Drew Aguilar-Carson Valley Accounting, Scott Shick-Douglas County Juvenile Probation and Mike McLaughlin-RAMAC Industries establishing the INCREDIBLE KIDS FUND.

John Ben Snow Memorial Trust has approved Incredible Kids Fund with a $5,000 grant. Incredible Kids Fund has provided 90 community center scholarships to youth and teen, ages 6 to 18, living in Douglas County, who may be financially unable to purchase an annual community center pass.

In addition, teens supervised by the Douglas County Juvenile Parole and Probation will be welcomed to apply for scholarships, that when approved, will provide their students a positive transition back into our community.  These grant funds will secure another 60 scholarships for local youth to enjoy after school and organized summer enrichment programs at the Douglas County Community Center this year.

We want to thank John Ben Snow Memorial Trust for believing in our mission and supporting our incredible kids of the Carson Valley.
